Tsum Valley - A Visit to the Forgotten Valley For thousands of years the Himalayas have been a refuge for seekers of relaxation and inner peace. Due to its remoteness the Tsum Valley has remained such an oasis of quietness and recreation up to the present time, a hidden spot where it is easy to forget the hectic and the turmoil in our daily life. This remote valley in the north of Nepal has been open to tourists only since October 17, 2007. It is not only the majestic peaks of the Himal Chuli (7‘832m), the Ganesh Himal (7‘429m) and the Sringi Himal (7‘187m) but also the numerous monasteries with their antic treasures of art, religion and culture that attract visitors and inspire them to pause for a while in this forlorn spot near the Nepal-Tibet border.
On our trek through the Budhi Gadanki Valley and through the areas of „lower“ and „upper“ Tsum we discover a multifaceted natural museum with many reminders of past eras and experience a way of life that is still characterized by traditional customs and classic Buddhist thinking and acting.
