Crossing the Parang La Pass (5'600m) from Spiti to Ladakh

Trekking Ladakh - We invite you to join us on a journey through an exceptional and spectacular area where the Tibetan culture is still untouched by the influence of our modern times. Translated Spiti means "Middle Country", the province between Tibet and India – a forgotten spot that has kept its charm of the mystic unknown up to the present day. Cultural and religious traditions enrich our senses. Idyllic villages with their man made potato and barley fields provide an agreeable contrast to the ochre colored mountains. Forlorn chortens and multicolored prayer flags are witnesses of the Tibetan Buddhist culture reigning in this unknown, often as “Little Tibet” described region.

Our trekking route starts in the Spiti valley and leads over the Parang La pass and the Rupshu plateau to the legendary Tso Moriri, a salt lake nestled in a landscape that is characterized by endless plains, rough high alpine deserts, glacier covered mountains and the deep dark blue of the Tibetan sky.

This trek not only provides you with an exceptional tour through Tibetan style country side but also with a comprehensive insight into the ancient Buddhist culture. The opportunity to meet the local population and the Rupshu nomads in conjunction with visits of simple but fascinating, more than a 1’000 years old monasteries are cultural highlights of this journey.
