Home Freeriding Heli Skiing Treks & Expeditions About Us

Around Manaslu Trek with Larkya La Pass (5'135m) Crossing

The seldom visited Manaslu area is located about 100 kilometers west of Kathmandu between the Ganesh Himal and the Annapurna Himal ranges. Deserted trails and traditional villages characterize this fascinating route far away from the busy trekking regions. In the small, remote villages of the narrow Budhi Gadanki valley we come across a largely intact Tibetan-Buddhist culture. Ancient monasteries, impressively carved mani walls (stone plates) and forlorn chortens (Buddhist monuments) border the trails through this isolated alpine terrain in the east of Manaslu.

The ascent to the Larkya La pass takes us along narrow valleys, through large dense forests and to numerous small, traditional settlements. On the way we can from time to time enjoy the sight on the majestic peaks of Ganesh Himal and the Manaslu massif.

On our trek through the Budhi Gadanki, the Dudh Khola and Marsyangdi valleys we visit an area which, due to its remoteness and severe visitor restrictions, has maintained its traditional character up to the present days. The trek through the forlorn alpine terrain results in an authentic and unforgettable expedition experience.
