Annapurna Trek with Tilicho Lake & Mesokanto Pass Crossing (5'030m)

This trek around the Annapurna from the Kali Gadanki valley over the Mesokanto La pass to the Tilicho lake and from there over the Eastern pass (5'340m) into the Marsyangdy valley is a rare jewel in the Nepalese trekking offer. This trek to the forlorn alpine terrain around the Tilicho lake begins with a couple of acclimatization days in the areas of the picturesque village of Kagbeni and the pilgrimage site of Muktinath.

Despite the growing popularity of the Mesokanto crossing over the past years there are still only a few people who attempt this demanding and little developed trekking route. The turquoise colored high alpine lake at nearly 5’000m and the exceptional view on the numerous 7’000 and 8’000m high peaks directly in front of us make this trek an absolute must for all passionate mountaineers.

On our trek through the variegated mountain terrain we cross grazing yaks, admire Tibetan temples and monasteries and visit picturesque Gurung and Thakali villages build on small terrace fields. The journey through this multifaceted vegetation zones and the panoramic view on the impressive massifs of the Annapurna and the Manaslu results in an unforgettable experience of a unique and memorable trekking expedition.
